Medications Used in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
 

Suboxone - (buprenorphine and naloxone) Sublingual Film® (CIII) is a prescription medicine used to treat opioid addiction in adults and is part of a complete treatment program that also includes counseling and behavioral therapy.

Vivitrol -  a prescription injectable medicine used to:

  • treat alcohol dependence; you should stop drinking before starting VIVITROL

  • prevent relapse to opioid dependence, after opioid detoxification


If you take opioids or opioid-containing medicines, you must stop taking them before you start receiving Vivitrol.

Medication Used to Reverse Opioid Overdose

NARCAN (naloxone) - NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems and severe sleepiness or not being able to respond. NARCAN® Nasal Spray is to be given right away and does not take the place of emergency medical care. Get emergency medical help right away after giving the first dose of NARCAN® Nasal Spray, even if the person wakes up. NARCAN® Nasal Spray is safe and effective in children for known or suspected opioid overdose.
