Mental Health Therapy

Individuals with presenting problems that range from situational to serious mental illnesses, may receive the following services:

  • Diagnostic Evaluation

  • Medication Evaluation

  • Medication Management

  • Individual Therapy

  • Family Therapy

  • Group Therapy

School-Based Mental Health Program

The goals of the School Based Mental Health Program are to:

  • Increase attendance

  • Reduce oppositional behavior

  • Increase grade point average and increase positive comments on report cards

  • Provide treatment in a setting that eliminates transportation struggles for the family, decreases the loss of classroom time for students, and prevents the stigma of attending a mental health clinic

  • Increase the communication collaboration between the school and mental health clinic

  • Increase community use of the school setting and make it an intricate part of the community

  • Provide on-going, short term or long term treatment depending on needs and services - including individual, group, and family therapy

Psychogeriatric Therapy Services

Calvert County Health Department partners with the Office on Aging to offer individual, group, and family counseling for adults at all three community centers.
